The case is adequate and convenient for using the Braille Edge 40 while on the go. I would recommend five changes to the case:
1. The narrow string-like straps that are to the left and right of the display, and on the insides of the scroll keys, tend to crowd out the 1st and 40th cells on the display. The case should be shaped so as to remove these tiny strings of leather beside the cells but still keep the case securely around the Braille Edge 40 including the top surface.
2. The two loops for the carrying strap are sewn to the case along its sides in such a way as to cause the Braille Edge to be angled just slightly out and away from the body when being carried on the go. The anchors for the straps should be attached as close to the bottom side of the case as possible (that is when case is flat on desk for orientation), and as far from the upper lid panel as possible, in such a way so that the Braille Edge will not angle outward but will remain flat up and down when carried. Also, the Braille Edge tends to swing left and right when one is walking with the strap around the neck, and so the repositioning of the strap should be done to eliminate this back and forth swing.
3. When closed, the rear left and right corners are still open and leave the very costly Braille Edge 40 still slightly exposed. So these corners should be sealed when the case is closed so as to offer the Braille Edge maximum protection.
4. For the price we pay junk the plastic clips and use higher quality metal hooks for the strap.
5. The front zippered pocket on the top of the lid is a tight squeeze, and within a few days articles contained therein caused the surface of the case lid to be permanently marked. So make the pocket a bit roomier, and use something other than stretchy neoprene to do so.
