Our Story
In the early 2000’s Turtleback’s CEO, Brian Eremita, was approached by Dr. Smith of Pulse Data International and his group to create a protective and functional carry solution for the new PDI Braille Note. Brian, feeling compelled by his own personal experience of understanding the difficulties of vision loss through his son’s partial vision loss, decided to design carry cases for Dr. Smith’s group of kids as a good faith gesture. To Brian’s surprise, the kids and PDI loved his carry cases. After listening to requirements and suggestions, and after a few revisions, the final design of the New PDI Braille Note Leather Carry Case was officially launched. During the design and manufacturing process, Brian and his team at Turtleback gained vital experience and knowledge to maximize the protection and ergonomics of note taker case designs and has, to this day, utilized this experience on all new low-vision case designs.
From there, over the course of two decades, Turtleback was called upon to design and manufacture carry cases for various device makers. Turtleback, being the expert in design and manufacturing, worked with resellers who would resell our product under various brands.
In the summer of 2023, our resellers moved on. Most consumers of low vision aids were not aware of Turtleback’s role in design and manufacturing of carry cases for low vision devices. As such, in September 2023, we launched our website, www.turtlebacklv.com, for consumers to find and enjoy our products. Thank you for your patronage over the years.
